Arkansas 2021
A COVID Travel Adventure
📅 Travel Date: January 2021
🛫Travel Type: Domestic
My daughter wanted to visit some friends in Arkansas, and since I needed to scratch Arkansas off my list, I jumped at the chance to go with her. It was also her very first flight.
We traveled during COVID, which made for an interesting experience. Masks, face shields, hand sanitizer everywhere, and surprisingly cheap airfare. We paid just $230 round trip for first class (!!!). I don't think we'll ever see prices like that again.
After we landed, we picked up our rental car, which turned out to be a decent car. It was fully loaded and I loved the multiple sun roofs.
Since we had a few hours to kill before our Airbnb would be available, we decided to take a quick road trip into Oklahoma (another state to cross off my list).
We finally got to our Airbnb, which was fabulous. Indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. The house is situated in a quiet neighborhood on a golf course. And the bed was super comfy.
The next day, we visited Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, stopping first to take a picture at the Walmart Museum in Bentonville.
These photos were taken at Crystal Bridges. Looking back, the mask immediately dates it. At the time, though, it was completely normal and something we hardly thought about. Today, it serves as a reminder of what travel was like during the COVID period.
