Located directly along the riverbank, this campsite offered a large, flat area for multiple tents, with plenty of trees for hanging hammocks. The sound of the river makes it peaceful and secluded, while the open space gives everyone room to spread out.
To reach the campsite, you’ll drive down a backcountry road to a gate, pass through the gate and circle around a field, and then follow a short stretch along the river before arriving at the campsite. While there is a nearby road, traffic was minimal and never disturbed the quiet atmosphere of the site.
Across the river sits a small cave that can usually be reached by wading through the water, though we skipped it during our February trip because the water was freezing cold.
Cell service was limited, the Android phone managed about one bar of signal while the iPhone had no service at all. Both are on AT&T. The site was quiet, peaceful, and exactly the kind of spot we love to visit to unplug and relax.
